The City of Monroe Commission on Environment and Water Quality MINUTES January 12, 2017 7:00 pm

Call to Order: Chairperson Pfund called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm

PAC Grant 2016-

Quarterly report submitted

All pictures taken were reviewed by Commission.

Field Guide “stuffers” will go out in Water Bill

Great Lakes & St. Lawrence Cities Initiative Project

Barry asked if for a recommendation for the City to become a member to the Mayor and Council.  A Motion was made by Dan and seconded by Bonnie that the COTE feels that we can better utilize the funds for projects that we have for more immediate return on our investment.

Also noted that Paul LaMarre is very active in this initiative.

MDEQ Report – None

Members Time:

Barry – Letter written for recommendation to EPA for weed management area.

We will be applying for the 2017 Monroe County Solid Waste Grant to help with Flowering Rush.

Scenic Vista Agreement is near complete

2017 PAC grant – COTE letter of support items will include: river clean up, Outreach Education, Website update.  Sub Committee to review other items; Shapefile or GIS Legacy layer, Video.

Motion Made by Dick and Seconded by Brian to submit a proposal for 2017 PAC grant.
