The City of Monroe Commission on the Environment and Water Quality MINUTES September 11, 2014 7:00 pm
CALL TO ORDER: Chairperson Pfund called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm
MEMBERS PRESENT: A roll call of members was taken and a quorum was present.

Motion to accept the meeting minutes from August 14, 2014 by Bonnie Finzel-Doster second by Dan Stefanski. Motion passed.
Update on Projects:
GLC 2014 Grant Updates
a) River Clean Up 2014
- 70 Volunteer’s GREAT turn out, Boy Scouts and Drain Commissioners office
b) Educational Outreach Materials
- PAC Grant – Completed – Newpaper Articles

iv. LETC Bus
v. Libraries
- Water Trails Signs installed near the Legacy Signage
i. Fish Consumption Signs
c) Additional Signage Locations
- 3 signs are budgeted
i. 2 designed need to be installed
1 at former pump house location
1 at St. Mary’s or Waterloo or Hellenberg or Veterans’ Park
Motion by Barry to meet with the Mayor and Councilwoman Rafko to discuss a vision for St. Mary’s Park i.e. removing the high fencing and creating a more welcome look. Supported by Dan Stefanski – motion passed.
Monroe County Environmental Grant Application – $3,000.00
Motion made by Bonnie Finzel-Doster to write a grant application to remove the Flowering Rush – Treatment/feasibility study with herbicide
MDEQ UPDATE – Melanie Foose, MDEQ AOC Coordinator
No update on DNAPL
SPAC – Richard Micka will continue to be our representative.
A planning call for SPAC for upcoming meeting:1) Management Action Area of Recovery 2) Life after Delisting
