The River Raisin in Monroe is home to an expansive gathering of wildlife including fish and gamefish, waterfowl, raptors, amphibians, turtles and mamals! This gallery includes just a few of the many species you can find making the river in Monroe home or a vacation spot.

On a canoe trip or hike down the river bank, one may spot white bass in the shallows, eastern garter snakes sunning themselves on rocks, snapping turtles waiting in a pool for minnows, a muskrat diving for seaweed, and a great blue heron watching it all from a stand on the river’s edge.
